The U.S and Halloween makeup!

What better way to start my blog then with Halloween, or also refered to as the day of "all hallows eve". Halloween is a U.S. holiday where children as well as many adults dress up in costume. The kids usually enjoy and evening of "trick or treating" in which they go house by house and receive many treats and sometimes tricks from their local neighbors while adults dress up without any boundaries. I have to admit that Halloween has to be by far my personal favorite holiday. Yes the candy and the costumes are great but what i really love about Halloween is the limitless possibilities when it comes to your makeup! My favorite makeup guru when it comes down to Halloween tutorials can be found on youtube and his name is, yes his, Josh or also known as Petrilude. He is absolutely amazing and I really recommend everyone to check out his channel, you will be in awe for hours!! He was my inspiration for my 2009 look which was an Ice Princess, I will post the link to that video and a picture of my personal recreation. This year i decided to dress up as the lovely Barbie and Storm from X-Men. I had alot of fun pulling both of these looks together, and like i said before I get REALLY into Halloween as you can tell! This is the one day out of the year where makeup artistry in the U.S. is at its prime and its really fun to see professionals as well as amateurs showcase their talents!

About Me!

As my first post I'd like to give you guys a little bit of insight on me. I am a 19 year old second year student at FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising). I am also a Beauty Merchandise Marketing Major and hope to get into Product Development in the near future. I'm a very crafty person and I really enjoy drawing, painting, and of course doing makeup.  Anyone who knows me can tell you that I LOVE makeup! I take it more as a form of art more then anything and I'd like to share that passion with you all. Makeup is a form of self expression and can hold a different meaning depending on the culture that you're in. This is what my blog is about, it is about the diversity of cultures. What is beautiful to one, holds a complete different meaning on the other side of the world. This isn't just another "beauty" blog, this is about art, culture and diversity; my passion!
